Arctic Paleoenvironmental Database

This archive builds upon the work of the now completed NSF-PARCS project and contains paleoenvironmental data from the Arctic. It combines the primary and derived data from PARCS with those data generated by other researchers and from ongoing projects.

Arctic Projects

ARCSS 2k. A synthesis of the last 2000 years of climatic variability from Arctic lakes.

PARCS. Archive website for the legacy of the Paleoenvironmental Arctic Sciences program.

Holocene Thermal Maximum. An ongoing synthesis project characterising the magnitude and causes of early Holocene warming in the Arctic.

PAIN-II. The Pan-Arctic INitiative is an international consortium of ecologists, palaeoecologists, palaeoclimatologists, biogeochemists and earth system modellers addressing questions about the role of terrestrial vegetation in modulating Arctic climate changes.

Modes of Variability (Pending publication). A project studying modes of variability in the Arctic focusing on annually resolved records of summer temperature.
