Latin American Pollen Database

The Latin American database began operation with funding from the NOAA Paleoclimatology Program in August 1994. An organizing workshop was hosted by Vera Markgraf and Eric Grimm in Springfield, Illinois, USA in November 1994. In October 1998 the database coordinator's torch was passed to Rob Marchant at the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands.

Site Inventory

The LAPD Site Inventory is available. This inventory includes summary information for approximately 400 Latin American and oceanic sites. Additions and corrections are welcome.

Availability of Data

Data for individual sites are available as HTML files. Use WebMapper or our text-based search to locate data files.

The LAPD Base Tables (last updated 13 July 1998) are available in Paradox 4.5 format. The size of this zip-file is approximately 0.9 Mbytes. For more information on these Paradox files, see the accompanying ReadMe file.
